words for the week

April 7, 2014 by Anne Marie

grassgreener_quote {via}

Happy Monday! If you’re anything like me, you need this quote taped to your forehead. It is so easy to compare your life to other’s, to wish that you had the success that they have, or  the love that they have, the happiness that they have or even the physical appearance that they have. But the thing is, there is no magic potion. No one wakes up to the life of their dreams. Those people have what they have because they worked really, really hard for it and continue to work hard for it every day. (Well, except for Victoria’s Secret models. They are genetic freaks of nature.)

Let’s all start looking inward instead of outward. Focus on yourself and what you can control every single day. Put all of yourself, every single ounce of your being, into what you want and what makes you the happiest person on the planet. No more excuses as to why you can’t get “what everyone else has.” Because somewhere, deep down, you already have it all. You just need to shine some serious sun on it. And after a while, you’ll see that your grass isn’t only the greenest, it is thick and lush and just perfect for afternoon picnics, games of tag, flower headbands, etc. :)

    I love your new Monday-ish quote posts AM! Thank you. I actually thought of you and your blog yesterday. I bought myself a wooden block at Vidler’s that has the quote “You can do ANYTHING, but you can’t do EVERYTHING.” I can always use a reminder to slow down and not take on so much. I hope you have a great week, Anne Marie!

      Thank you Penny! And I LOVE that quote! Wow, I might need to buy myself the same sign OR tape that quote to my forehead – I always, always try to fit too much into too little time and I wind up utterly exhausted! Kind of like how we worked and went to grad school? Haha guess we are just overachievers. :) Thank you for reading my blog, I’m so glad you enjoy it!!
