my dream outdoor bar

August 3, 2014 by Anne Marie

I am quite the daydreamer, but nothing diverts my attention more than dreaming about our ultimate future home. (Remember this post?) Since we have rented every place we’ve lived so far, Matt and I have big plans – huge – to create the home of our dreams, whenever we figure out where “home” will be!

So when Chairish, a gorgeous, treasure-filled online shop where you can buy and sell pre-loved home furnishings, asked me to put together the my dream home bar using a pair of their bar chairs for inspiration, I couldn’t wait to get to work! At first I thought I would create an inside bar, with an antique roll cart and high ball glasses, a la Mad Men, but when I saw these wicker chairs I flash-forwarded to my future outdoor backyard, strung with sparkly lights under tall trees and a big ol’ wooden table fit for the whole neighborhood to come and visit. I think our recent visit to Saratoga reminded me just how much I love outdoor entertaining spaces (and the thought of living in Saratoga in general).

So with Saratoga, the South and these beautiful wicker bar stools in mind, here is an idea of what my dream outdoor bar would be filled with:

With a mix of rustic charm and Southern hospitality, my outdoor bar will be a place where friends and family can linger, lounge and laugh until the wee hours of the morning. Or until I get really tired and need to go to bed. Kidding! There will be endless cold drinks to sip, homemade snacks to munch on and of course, enough mason jars to go around.

After browsing through Chairish, it is clear that I can make inspiration boards for every room of my dream house (and since it is a dream house, there are a lot of rooms) based off of its  insane amount of furniture and decor finds. I’m drooling over so many pieces in its Shabby Chic category, and I’ll just go ahead and take everything from the Country collection, k?

Thanks Chairish for taking my inspiration game up to the next level! Now, onto Zillow-ing that dream house…
