friday five

March 21, 2014 by Anne Marie

Happy first Friday of Spring!

cherry blossoms

{DC cherry blossom trees in bloom via 2012…can’t wait until they make their 2014 debut!]

We are in for a b-e-a-utiful weekend – high of 70 tomorrow! – which is marvelous albeit a bit crazy considering we just had a snow day on Monday. Andddd we might be getting more snow next week. (Altogether now: “UGHHHHHHHHHH!” Polar vortex, it’s about time you scram.) So, we plan on taking full advantage of the sunny rays and warm breezes this weekend, spending every waking moment we can outside, trying to remedy our vitamin D deficiency. And if you find me sunbathing on the roof, don’t judge… mama needs some color! Four months of winter has me looking like an Italian albino.

Here are a few links for your weekend enjoyment:

1) I’ve been craving blueberry granola lately (Weird? Yes. Pregnant? NO.) so I’m drooling over these bars. (via halfbakedharvest.com)

2) For the fashion-challenged (read: me), here is spring fashion by the numbers. (via thecoveteur.com)

3) Eat your way through the world with these gorgeous/appetizing maps made from food.(via mymodernmet.com)

4) An easy way to be happier in five seconds – I tried this today and while it was a bit strange, I think it worked! (via joannagoddard.blogspot.com)

5) I’m not sure if these 77 facts are all true, but I am pretty gullible so needless to say, they are blowing my mind. (via buzzfeed.com)

Enjoy that beautiful cherry blossom season when it arrives. I remember how breathtaking they were the first time I saw them. I enjoyed reading some words of wisdom from #4 above, haven’t gotten to your other suggestions yet. Have a great day! Love ya bunches.
