(craft)gawkified.

March 21, 2012 by Anne Marie

The best thing in the world happened to me (and this blog) two weeks ago. And no, I’m not talking about the Ryan Gosling appearance. Although c’mon – that was pretty awesome.

No, I am talking about a little site called CRAFTGAWKER. That kindaaaa sortaaaa maybeeee FEATURED MY YARN-WRAPPED LETTERS!

I have been a fan of the “gawker verse” for quite some time now (I seriously don’t think there would have been a wedding without weddinggawker) but for some reason, I never ever thought to submit any of my own crafts/food/wedding pics. I was too busy, well, gawking over everyone else’s amazing things.

But then one day, it hit me that hey, maybe – just maybe – I could submit something and be one of these cool blogger people.

So I did. And then obsessively refreshed my Gmail and craftgawker accounts every five minutes, hoping for some sort of answer. And to my absolute delight, around 5 p.m. the next afternoon, I got the answer I was hoping for!

My letters! Smack dab on the first page (or as I recounted to everyone that I’ve ever spoken to in my life) three rows down on the right-hand side). And my stats, skyrocketing all the way across the globe. I have gotten hits from over 35 countries, including the UK, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Japan, Norway, Latvia, Indonesia and Mexico!

I couldn’t believe it, and to be honest, I still can’t believe it. (As of right now, I’ve been favorited 2,040 times on craftgawker and have 504 pins to Pinterest. Eeee! )I know that being featured on websites and/or mentioned by other bloggers may be an every day occurrence for some, but I will never forget how awesome it feels to be recognized, even in the teeniest way. So I’m sending huge hugs to craftgawker and to everyone who visits my site (including you, Ma, as I know you can account for a good 15 hits a day). Thanks for the love!! Can I send you cookies??

I found your little crafty mama self through those yarn wrapped letters (before you were gawked…haha) and I’m still coming back for more!

PS: If you dress up as Girl on Fire please tell me there will be pictures! :)

Aww thanks Molly!! And yes, I will TOTALLY be filling this blog with really embarrassing photos of me as Katniss. You’ll probably be my only reader after that, but it will be worth it. :)
